Nectresse

Nectresse

Dietary Needs: None

Another no calorie sweetener is on the shelves. Nectresse uses Monk Fruit extract but also included is erythritol, sugar, and molasses. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that is used in many products such as gums, low carbohydrate foods, and low calorie sweeteners. Sugar alcohols can have negative side effects such as bloating and gas. Erythritol looks and tastes just likes sugar but with no calories.  It is also known that erythritol comes from corn and unfortunately most of the corn in America is GMO corn. Although Nectresse is marketed as being natural fruit sugar, make sure to pay attention to the other added ingredients. Nectresse is way better than Splenda or any other artificial sweeteners so we definitely see this product as a step in the right direction!
