Alta Dena is a decent, widely available brand of clean dairy products. In a conventional grocery store, they are a higher quality brand and in the health food store, there are better options. The best thing about them is that their milk comes from cows not treated with the growth hormone rBST*. All milk comes from family farmers under contract to Alta Dena. Cows receive a nutritious diet including fresh alfalfa hay which is much better than corn (and increases them by 1 star). They also use ingredients approved by the Natural Food Industry, such as natural sweeteners, honey and fructose. They never add powdered milk to fortify milk. It is ESSENTIAL these days to support companies that DO NOT treat their cows with hormones or antibiotics. They destroy our health on so many levels. Alta Dena is a fairly good choice and is widely available.
