Seventh Generation Free and Clear Baby Diapers

Seventh Generation Free and Clear Baby Diapers

Dietary Needs:
None

Fantastic eco-friendly brand that needs to be supported! Seventh Generation creates household and personal care products that are effective and safe for the air, the surfaces, the fabrics, the pets and the people living in your home. Their baby diapers are FREE of chlorine processing; they are also FREE of fragrances, latex and petroleum-based lotions because a baby's skin should not be exposed to those things.  They have an improved (but still not fantastic) environmental footprint, due to a redesigned core that is more efficient at absorption and uses less processed chlorine free wood pulp. 4 out of 5 stars - because while they are great diapers, they still dramatically effect our precious environment. The average child uses 5000 diapers during the entire time they are wearing them. That is a serious impact to consider.

Kyani Sunrise

Kyani Sunrise

Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free

A good supplement, especially for kids who hate to take vitamins. Kyani provides a good-tasting composition of potent health producing, all-natural superfoods like the Alaska Wild Blueberry and other exotic berries.  Best taken as a shot in the am or added to a smoothie. Contains trace minerals in a very palatable form (straight trace minerals can be too overpowering in flavor most of the time). Kyani is an MLM (multi-level marketing) product that was sent to us to review. While the ingredients look good we never activley support nor sell MLM proudcts. Overall score is a 3 out of 5.

Milton's Crackers

Milton's Crackers

Dietary Needs:
None

Hailing from our own neighborhood here in North County San Diego, Milton's is one of the healthier crackers in a conventional grocery store  and even found at many Costco's. However, in a health food store, it is a less healthy option. Milton's Crackers are all natural baked multi-grain crackers containing zero trans fats. We love how they are multi grain, but they do lose a star for not being organic (because we are not sure if the wheat is genetically modified) and they do contain sugar, which drops them another star.

Laughing Giraffe Organics Banana Coconut Snackaroons

Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Low Glycemic, Gluten Free

A friend of ours and fellow IIN graduate started this small family owned company after years of working in NYC raw foods restaurant. His mission was to create handcrafted, minimally processed, nutrient dense, nourishing snacks. Mission accomplished! Their taste advantage is that they blend the most interesting flavors together which makes them very unique. For starters try their banana coconut snackaroon which is a gluten-free granola-type snack. They are organic and super high quality. Whole Journey select product!

Kopali Organics Chocolate Espresso Beans

Kopali Organics Chocolate Espresso Beans

Dietary Needs:
Vegan, Dairy Free

A mission-driven company, founded to bring its consumers natural, organic, high quality products that are produced sustainably and with compassion for the people who work to bring it to you. While we LOVE this company, as nutritionists, what can we say about chocolate and a straight shot of caffeine all in one? Not the best for your biochemistry, but we embrace and 80/20 rule of balance and need our chocolate and coffee fix from time to time too. They taste great, but have evaporated cane juice in them as well as soy lecithin. We give this product 2.5 stars because of the sugar and soy. They use cocoa powder to make the chocolate, which is fine, but using the superfood power of raw cacao would have also bumped up the rating on this product.
