NuNaturals No Carb Stevia

NuNaturals No Carb Stevia

Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Low Glycemic, Gluten Free

No Carb Stevia is made with erythritol, which is a natural filler (sugar alcohol) that is produced from corn. It's a natural sweetener that looks and tastes like sugar yet has almost no calories and does not have any adverse effects on blood sugar. Some of you may have watched the documentary King Korn. We are getting corn through every step of the food chain these days which is creating radical imbalances in our food supply and in our bodies. Consider mixing it with other healthy sweeteners, like xylitol, to increase its flavor profile. Erythritol has a low molecular weight which means it won't brown the way other sugars do when baked but it will extend the shelf life of products it's used in. We give it a 3 because of the metallic aftertaste and the refining process. We’d also like to see xylitol replace the erythritol since xylitol comes from the birch tree, improves enamel on teeth and challenges fungus and yeast in the body.

NuNaturals Liquid Stevia

NuNaturals Liquid Stevia

Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Low Glycemic, Gluten Free

NuNaturals produces many different forms of Stevia Extract. What we like best about NuNaturals is that they have figured out how to keep the metallic aftertaste of stevia to a minimum so our clients are more willing to use it consistently. You will need much less NuNaturals Stevia because it is stronger than most stevia products on the market. Use the liquid because the powdered, white form contains maltodextrin, an undesirable ingredient (most of the time in our opinion if it comes from corn). Maltodextrin from tapioca is much better but more expensive. Our clients LOVE the vanilla flavored liquid product. It helps them eat so much less sugar, to drink more water and to healthfully flavor their smoothies and hot cereals. NuNaturals use plant based (herbs and berries) extracts in very small amounts to enhance the taste of Stevia products. These natural flavors do not contain msg (monosodium glutamate) or any other chemicals that have been known to cause allergic reactions in people.Stevia is about 100 times as sweet as sugar, so it is a very potent natural sweetener and one bottle will last a long time since you only use 1-3 drops per serving. This is a safe and good alternative to sugar or yellow, pink and blue packets for your morning tea or coffee.

NuNaturals Erythritol crystals

NuNaturals Erythritol crystals

Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Low Glycemic, Gluten Free

Sweet Health, Erythritol Crystals are derived from corn starch...which is a bit of a bummer to us. Nonetheless, it's a natural sweetener that looks and tastes like sugar yet has almost no calories but does not have any adverse effects on blood sugar. We are getting corn through every step of the food chain these days which is creating radical imbalances in our food supply and in our bodies, however this sugar replacement it will not raise your blood sugar, and will not decay teeth. It is about three fourths as sweet as fructose, and gluten-free. Again we are not huge proponents of corn as it is overused in our food supply and acid-forming in the body. However, this is still a pretty big upgrade from sugar.

NuNaturals More Fiber Baking Blend

NuNaturals More Fiber Baking Blend

Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Low Glycemic, Gluten Free

You don’t have to feel guilty about eating baked goods if you eat them smarter. NuNaturals gets points for creativity with their high quality MoreFiber blend to use in baking. Try using it to substitute sugar. Because it is naturally sweeter than sugar you will use less (about ½ of what is called for in your recipe). MoreFiber will also absorb a bit more liquid. Add 1-3 T more liquid in your recipe or cut out some of the flour. This is a safe and good alternative to sugar. This fiber stevia powder blend is made with maltodextrin, which is a carbohydrate derived from grain (not sure if it is corn in this case, but hope not). Stevia is about 100 times as sweet as sugar, so it is a very potent natural sweetener. We tried it in our healtlhy carrot cake and loved it.
