San J Tamari
Tamari is a wheat-free soy sauce. Something would not be right if this wasn't stocked in our pantry. We are not big fans of gluten for myriad of reasons and are glad that there is an alternative to regular soy sauce (which contains wheat to thicken it). San J is a great company, well-versed in traditional Japanese foods. What we are most excited about is that they recently came out with little packets so we can take them in our pockets or purse when we go out for sushi. Look for them in your local health food store. Again, our take on soy is that we only suggest eating fermented forms of soy via tamari, miso or tempeh. San J Tamari would be your upgrade from Kikkoman.
