Terra Crinkles Sweet Potato Sea Salt Chips
Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Low Glycemic, Gluten Free
Most of Terra Chips products are much higher quality than the conventional brands like Lays, Doritos, etc. They contain only root vegetables, oil and salt. No artificial colors, flavors or hydrogenated oils. Sweet potatoes are much lower on the glycemic index than white potatoes, which is a nice upgrade. The oil they use is a combo of canola oil and safflower oil. It would be great if brands actually let us know which oil they decided to use and how much of it. Canola oil is largely genetically modified if it’s not organic and so we are not sure about that here. Safflower oil is a good oil, high in Omega 6 & 9.

Health Valley Organic Sesame Crackers
Dietary Needs:
None
The good thing about these crackers is that the ingredients are organic (NO GMO ingredients) and they use expeller pressed oils, which are high in quality. Like so many other companies and products, the crackers contain cane sugar. They also use fruit juice. We so wish they would ditch the cane sugar and simply use more juice for sweetness. Not a dairy-free or gluten-free product. Taste is good.

Ian's Crackers
Dietary Needs:
Vegan, Dairy Free
This is not necessarily a health food brand, but a much healthier option than many conventional brands. Ian's has gluten-free options for people with allergies that are well worth looking into. The crackers are made with organic ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. No hydrogenated oils, or bleached flours. They DO have evaporated cane juice, which is sugar. Sunflower oil is better than safflower or canola, which many other brands use.

Robert's American Gourmet Pirate's Booty
Dietary Needs:
Soy Free, Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free
Head’s up parents, these are your new “cheesy poofs”. Baked puffs of rice and corn made with aged white cheddar. There are not so many ingredients in this, making it healthier snacking option for kids. No preservatives and the use of expeller pressed oils are both good things. The corn meal listed is not organic so we are not sure if it’s GMO or not, which definitely drops it a star in that category. They also don’t list if the rice is white or brown. This is not a low-glycemic snack.
