Arrowhead Mills Organic Buckwheat Flour
What can we say, we really dig this company because their products help us to do our job better. We appreciate that they offer ground flax, a gluten-free hot cereal and a ton of alternative flour options. Give your baking a truly distinctive flavor with Arrowhead Mills Buckwheat Flour. An excellent source of fiber, Buckwheat is actually not wheat and does not contain any wheat. Buckwheat or kasha, hails from Russia and is considered a very warming grain and great for the winter. Bob’s buckwheat berries are ground into flour can be used for an array of international dishes such as soba noodles, crepes and pancakes.
Beanitos Black Bean Chips
This company gets huge points for being so creative. They have taken healthy snacking to a whole new level with their bean chips. This is a huge upgrade from potato and corn chips. Loaded with non-GMO vegetable fiber, 4 grams of complete protein, and high in Omega 3s this product makes a great snack. There are 4 flavors available including Bean, Pinto Bean and Flax, Black Bean with Chipotle BBQ and Pinto Bean and Flax with Cheddar Cheese. These chips are 100% corn, wheat, soy, and potato free. Naturally a complex carbohydrate this bean chip has a low glycemic index that makes it a smart choice to stabilize blood sugar. The beans are not organic, so that drops them one star. We think they are delicious and a must try. TWJ Select product!
Perfect Foods Bar
Love this company! Finally, a raw, organic protein bar at truly tastes delicious! It's definitely one of our favorites to recommend to breakfast skippers to feed their stress hormones upon waking. Their motto is 'Real food and simple ingredients you can pronounce without a chemistry degree.' We dig it. It's how food should be. High in protein, fiber and Omega-3s, these bars are hand made locally in San Diego. They use whey protein and sweeten the bar with raw organic honey. There are 18g of protein per bar and with the nut profile, they are packed with healthy fat. Because of the raw high quality ingredients, you will find these in the refrigerated section of your health food store (or if you are not on the west coast, you'll have to order them online). Our favorite is the almond butter flavor (which is perfect for those sensitive to peanuts). There are a total of 5 flavors to choose from so you are guaranteed to find one you like. Hands down, this bar rates the tastiest among our clientele.
Mary's Gone Crackers Sticks and Twigs
We might be keeping Mary's in business too because of how often we suggest them. :) Mary's is a brand we promote on a daily basis and in all of our grocery store tours. These sticks and twigs are truly a gift to pretzel lovers! This unique gluten-free snack is light and crunchy and tastes strikingly similiar to a pretzel and all of our clients love them. Sticks & Twigs are made with nutrient dense whole grains including brown rice, quinoa, amaranth, and millet. Flax, sesame and chia seeds add great flavor and a healthy combo of Omega-3 and Omega-6. Check out all 3 flavors- sea salt, curry and chipotle tomato. Thank you Mary's for existing and helping us to help people gracefully and tastefully go gluten free!
Ian's Gluten-free Animal Cookies
Made with organic ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. It is difficult for parents to find animal crackers that are gluten-free so we are happy that Ian’s is doing this! Their products contain no hydrogenated oils but they do use cane juice. We would gladly give them an extra star if they used a lower glycemic sweetener like brown rice syrup, coconut sugar, fruit juice or even agave nectar. Much better option compared to conventional brand like Oreo's or Chips Ahoy, but Nana's cookies would be a better option. Definitely check out the rest of their products because they make a whole line of healthier chicken nuggets and other products that are dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free and nut-free.
